Carina Hatfield, LUTCF, LACP, CLCS, of Spring City, PA, is the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA) Young Advisor Team Leader of the Year for 2020.

Hatfield is the Owner of Weigner Insurance & Financial Services Inc. in Pottstown, PA, and a member of the NAIFA-Pennsylvania chapter. Selected from a national group of finalists, she was formally recognized at the NAIFA Belong! awards recognition event on November 17.

“NAIFA is proud to recognize Carina Hatfield as the 2020 Young Advisors Team Leader of the Year,” said NAIFA CEO Kevin Mayeux, CAE. “Carina’s talent, energy, and dedication provide a shining example of how younger advisors make a meaningful difference in NAIFA, in their communities, and in the lives of their clients. Carina, and exemplary volunteer leaders like her, are the reason NAIFA will continue to be the largest, most influential, and most successful membership association for financial professionals in the United States.”

Hatfield has more than 15 years in the insurance and financial services industry. She is the President-Elect of the NAIFA-Pennsylvania chapter and beginning in 2010 has served several terms on the state Board of Directors. She has served on the NAIFA-Pennsylvania Strategic Planning Committee, chaired the state Young Advisors Team, and is currently the state Membership Chair. She was the President of the NAIFA-Tri-County local chapter from 2009 to 2011.

Hatfield serves on NAIFA’s national Young Advisors Team Committee and is the YAT liaison to the Leadership in Life Institute (LILI) Subcommittee. She is a LILI graduate and class moderator. She organized a return of the LILI program to Pennsylvania after an absence of several years. She also serves as a NAIFA Ambassador, providing guidance to the next generation of insurance and financial advisors and encouraging them to become NAIFA members.

“Carina is a great asset to this industry and anything she is involved in,” said Paul Valerio, a fellow NAIFA-Pennsylvania member and Past President of NAIFA-Tri-County. “She is always willing to lend a hand and has a strong desire to see this industry and our association flourish.”

In her community, Hatfield leads a troop of Girl Scouts. She served as a Gold Award Girl Scout Advisor, a trainer for other scouting leaders, and the Service Unit Manager in charge of all Girl Scout programs in the Owen J. Roberts school district. Hatfield has been a member of the Tri-County Chamber of Commerce since 2006, and for the past two years has served on the Chamber’s REACH Committee, focused on re-energizing the Women of the Workforce Group in her local Chamber.

"It is a great honor to be recognized as YAT Leader of the Year for 2020,” Hatfield said. “I am ready and willing to do my part in helping to advance NAIFA, our industry, and financial security for the American families and businesses that we serve. I am forever, NAIFA proud."
